InteractNetworks

InteractNetworks, a Seattle provider of security management for wired and wireless networks, appointed Brett Helsel as chief executive officer. He has more than 20 years of experience as a senior executive in the networking industry, serving as chief technology officer at F5 Networks, and vice president for CyberSafe, a provider of network security solutions to Fortune 500 companies.

Pierce County Law Library

The Pierce County Law Library has opened its first regional branch at Gig Harbor Civic Center, 3510 Grandview St. Regional branch users will be able to research Washington law, prepare for court proceedings, print court forms and access the Westlaw database. University of Washington

Chancellor Warren W. Buck of University of Washington Bothell signed an exchange agreement with Ehime University in Matsuyama, Japan. This came as a result of a research project between UW Bothell's computing and software systems professor Munehiro Fukuda and his partner at Ehime, professor Shinya Kobayashi. Ehime has 8,300 undergraduate and 1,400 graduate students.

Atlantic Street Center

The Seattle nonprofit Atlantic Street Center announced winners of its 2004 special recognition awards: Chick Hodge and Rick Duchaine were co-winners of the Elsie Walker Outstanding Volunteer award; Lois Livingston, won the Reverend Willie Jackson, Jr. Religious Service award; Gary Tubbs won the Excellence in Education award; Eric Pettigrew won the Tsuguo "Ike" Ikeda Public Service award; and Ashley Vasser won the Youth of the Year award.

Veterinary Specialty Center

BBBody:Radiologist Dr. Tori McKlveen joined the staff of the Veterinary Specialty Center in Lynnwood. McKlveen worked as a staff radiologist in Houston. At VSC she provides radiography, ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging services. VSC is located at 20115 44th Ave. W.

Meridian

The Meridian, a condo being developed by Malibu Corp. on Bainbridge Island, named Mark J. Smaha director of health and fitness. Smaha directed athletic medicine for Washington State University. The Meridian will be a four-story complex with offices, guest accommodations and 16 residential suites. The Malibu Corp. is a Bainbridge Island-based development and construction business.

EvergreenBank

EvergreenBank Senior Vice President Michelle Worden joined the board of directors for the Starlight Foundation of Washington state in Redmond. The Starlight Foundation is an international non-profit that aims to improve the quality of life for ill children and their families. EvergreenBank has offices in Seattle, Lynnwood, Bellevue and Federal Way.
