Everett-based Intermec hired Robert Driessnack as senior vice president and chief financial officer. Driessnack has 25 years experience with public and private businesses, and was recently vice president and controller at HNI Corp. Intermec develops, manufactures and integrates chain asset technologies.

Ray's Boathouse Restaurant

Ray's Boathouse Restaurant on Shilshole Bay in Seattle promoted Richard Kelsey to wine director for its fine-dining restaurant, casual cafe and full-service catering operation. Kelsey joined Ray's five years ago as a fine dining server.

Troiani Ristorante Italiano

Troiani Ristorante Italiano announced Roger Greene is the new executive chef. Greene has worked locally at BluWater Bistro and P.F. Chang's China Bistro. He succeeds Peter Levine in the position, who moves to the helm of Troiani's sister restaurant Waterfront Seafood Grill.

Taco Del Mar

Taco Del Mar hired Bob Tipple as the new president and CEO of Taco Del Mar Canada, an exclusive licensee of the Seattle-based Taco Del Mar Franchising Corp. Tipple was president of Subway Developments 2000 since 1991. Taco Del Mar, a quick service Mexican restaurant chain, has 60 locations in Canada and over 200 in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Guam.

Family Policy Institute

The Family Policy Institute of Washington hired Joseph Backholm as executive director. Backholm has been staff council to the Washington state senate caucus for the past three years.

ZymoGenetics

ZymoGenetics will form a Biosurgery Business Unit focused on maximizing the commercial potential of Recothrom Thrombin, topical. Stephen Zaruby will lead the new division as general manager of the unit, and will also serve as president of ZymoGenetics, effective Jan. 2. Zaruby worked at Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals.

Thoa's Restaurant & Lounge

Thoa Nguyen, the Seattle chef and restaurateur behind Chinoise Cafe and The Islander, announced Thoa's Restaurant & Lounge is open. Thoa's, open in the former Islander location at 96 Union St., is a contemporary Vietnamese restaurant.

Fairway America

Fairway America, a Portland-based commercial lender, hired Lisa Gaur and Diane Arthur Kukish. Gaur is executive assistant to the president. Kukish has worked in marketing and graphic design, and is the new marketing and communications manager.
