Cornish College of the Arts and the Northwest Development Officers Association said Jane Ewing, vice president of institutional advancement, will receive the association's 2012 professional achievement award on June 8. Cornish College is a visual and performance art institute.
Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau hired Lori Magaro as executive assistant. Magaro worked as marketing and public relations manager at Ray's Boathouse. Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau is a nonprofit marketing organization.
University of Washington's Center for Commercialization hired Rob Arnold, Michael “Luni” Libes, Ted Weiler and Chris Wood to the Entrepreneurs-in-Residence program, which introduces entrepreneurs to UW faculty who help translate research results into practical applications.

Ohio-based Educational Theatre Association will induct Ruben Van Kempen, director of Seattle's Roosevelt High School theater, to its Hall of Fame for 2012 on Sept. 21 at Marriott Coronado Island. Van Kempen has been an educator for 40 years. Educational Theatre Association is a professional organization for theater educators.
