Seattle-based Peterson Sullivan named Rachel Le Mieux as partner in the state and local tax practice. Le Mieux was a principal at a leading tax services firm and prior to that, a partner and state and local tax practice leader for an accounting and business consulting firm. Peterson Sullivan is a certified public accounting firm.

Sterling Bank

Sterling Bank named Renee Newman as senior vice president and director of its Wealth Management Group. Newman has 20 years of industry experience and joined Sterling Bank in February after the acquisition of First Independent Bank, which she joined in October 2007. Sterling Savings Bank, the principal operating subsidiary of Sterling Financial Corp. of Spokane, is a Washington-state chartered commercial bank.

Madison Park Capital Partners

Seattle-based Madison Park Capital Partners hired John Schmick as principal. Schmick has 25 years of industry experience and was former regional sales director in the private client services division for Russell Investments. Madison Park is an alternative asset management firm focused on investing.

Lane Powell

Charles Riley, Jr., vice president of the Seattle law firm Lane Powell and chair of the trust and estates practice group, was named Seattle's 2013 Lawyer of the Year in trusts and estates by Best Lawyers in a peer-review survey.

Freight Wing

Seattle-based Freight Wing hired Paul Hegdahl as chief executive officer. Hegdahl takes over CEO duties from Sean Graham, who remains with Freight Wing as president and chief engineer. Hegdahl was a vice president for Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Freight Wing manufactures SmartWay-verified trailer side skirts, gap fairings and other trailer aerodynamic components for the trucking industry.

HomeStreet Bank

Seattle-based HomeStreet Bank hired Randy Daniels as senior vice president and director of income property lending. Daniels has 26 years of real estate experience and previously worked as northwest regional executive for Bank of America's commercial real estate group. HomeStreet Bank is a full-service community bank.

Johnson

Tacoma-based Columbia Bank hired Robin Johnson as vice president and branch manager of the Redmond and Woodinville banking centers. Johnson served 37 years at Bank of America. Columbia Banking System is the holding company of Columbia State Bank, a Washington state-chartered full-service commercial bank.

Bellevue Downtown Association

Lloyd

Bellevue Downtown Association board chair Brian Brand announced President Leslie Lloyd will leave the organization to pursue a new opportunity. Lloyd has served as president since 2001 and will stay on to aid in the transition. The association is a nonprofit focused on downtown Bellevue as the economic and cultural heart of the Eastside.

Cornish College of the Arts

Cornish College of the Arts President Nancy Uscher announced the retirement of Lois Harris, provost and vice president of academic affairs. She has held numerous positions in higher education administration, including director of liberal studies at Antioch University Seattle. Jenifer Ward, associate provost, will become interim provost and vice president Oct. 1.
