Michael Jacobson, deputy director of performance and strategy in King County's Office of Performance, Strategy and Budget, won the Harry Hatry Distinguished Performance Measurement Practice Award. The award is given by the American Society for Public Administration's Center for Accountability and Performance.
The Metropolitan King County Council appointed Ketu Shah as judge in the Northeast Division of King County District Court. Shah has been practicing law in Washington since 1995 and as a judge pro tem in King County since 2007. She is the first judge of East Indian descent in Washington.
Bellevue-based Schwartz Brothers appointed Peter Coulter as corporate executive chef. Coulter will oversee Daniel's Broiler, Chandler's Crabhouse, Spazzo Italian Grill, Schwartz Brothers Bakery and Gretchen's Shoebox Express.

Starbucks has named Sharon Rothstein as global chief marketing officer. Rothstein was senior vice president of marketing at the specialty beauty retailer Sephora.
Auburn-based Inner Icon Fitness, a four-year-old fitness studio, is opening a fourth space at 2002 West Valley Highway N. in Auburn. David and Wynter Weaver are owners.
M. Grant Norton, a professor with the Washington State University School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, has been selected as the new dean of the university's Honors College effective May 16. Norton replaces current dean Libby Walker who will retire after 17 years with the Honors College.

The University of Washington board of regents named deans to head three schools at UW Bothell: Bruce Burgett, School of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences; Sandeep Krishnamurth, School of Business; and Elaine Scott, School of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Wells Fargo Insurance named John Haskell as managing director for the Pacific Northwest. Haskell has worked with Wells Fargo for 12 years in leadership roles, most recently as head of commercial lines for the Seattle office. Wells Fargo Insurance says it is the fifth largest insurance broker in the world.
Seattle-based Univera named Rick Nelson as vice president of international for the health and nutritional products company in Seattle. Nelson brings more than 20 years of experience in the direct selling industry, holding executive positions in Nu Skin and Max International.
