Seattle law firm Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson added Hillary J. Collyer to the litigation and labor employment practice groups. Collyer practiced law for more than 10 years in Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C.

Tacoma Goodwill hired Christa Brothers as chief development officer for the Goodwill Heritage Foundation. Brothers was director of development for the University of Utah's Health Sciences Department. Goodwill is a nonprofit providing job placement, career training and education.
California-based Opus Bank promoted Michael Allison to co-president, Don Royer to senior executive vice president and Bob Granfelt to chief credit officer. Opus Bank is a full-service community bank with 50 locations in California and Washington.

Seattle law firm Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson has added the entire firm of Gottlieb Fisher: principals Dan Gottlieb and Irene Fisher, and senior attorney Maude Anderson. Attorney Andy Rigel also joins the firm from Lane Powell.
Seattle Central Community College named Michael (Duff) McKagan, alumnus and former bassist for the band Guns N'Roses, as the 2013 Distinguished Alumni of the Year. Camila Sigelmann and Jay McLean-Riggs received the Faculty of Excellence award.

Seattle-based law firm Cairncross & Hempelmann hired Mike Moyer as a new partner. Moyer has worked in the clean technology sector representing clean technology and sustainable industry companies, and most recently was a partner in the corporate group of Dorsey & Whitney.
Washington Policy Center hired Lisa Shin as director of communications and marketing. Shin has managed marketing projects for Microsoft, Expedia and Amazon, and was executive director of the King County Republican Party. Washington Policy Center advocates for public policy based on free-market solutions.
Seattle City Council confirmed Pierce Murphy as director of the Office of Professional Accountability, which investigates complaints about police misconduct in the Seattle Police Department.
