King County Executive Dow Constantine appointed Adrienne Quinn to direct the King County Department of Community and Human Services, succeeding Jackie MacLean, who is stepping down after leading the department for 11 years. Quinn was executive director of the Medina Foundation in Seattle and has worked with human service providers on housing, domestic violence, food distribution and youth programs. She also worked for Enterprise Community Partners in Washington, D.C., and was director of the Seattle Office of Housing.
Jamie Randal joins Clark Nuber as a manager in the Tax Department, focusing on real estate, senior living and hospitality, as well as manufacturing and construction entities. She was tax manager at Clothier & Head.
Seattle Repertory Theatre hired Jamie Herlich as director of individual gifts, heading up large-scale fundraising. She was most recently director of advancement and communications at Edmonds Center for the Arts, and will oversee a team of five. She was co-founding company member and the first managing director of New Century Theatre Co.

Seattle-based MOD Pizza said John Dikos, CFE, has joined the company as vice president, strategic partnerships. He was with Qdoba Mexican Grill as director of franchise development and will focus on moving MOD into key U.S. markets. MOD has nine restaurants in Washington and will open seven more in Washington, Oregon and California by December.
Seattle Public Theater has added a new managing director: Zoe Alexis Scott. She was executive director of The Grand, an historic theatre and nonprofit in Maine, since 2008 and co-founded the West Marin Music Festival and directed Baroque Arts Ensemble in San Francisco.
Hostile Work Environment is a new Seattle company that says it makes films for “gamers, geeks and the people who love them.” It is headed by Peter Adkison, founding CEO of Wizards of the Coast, and has announced a new web series called “Norm Owensen, Medieval Mercenary.” The premiere will be at Central Cinema Sept. 25. It also will be on the company's YouTube channel.

Evan E. Sonntag, CPA, has been promoted to manager of Newman Dierst Hales in Seattle, a tax and accounting CPA firm specializing in owner-operated businesses, individuals and health care organizations. He has been with the firm since 2009 and also worked for Benson & McLaughlin.
The Seattle office of K&L Gates LLP hired Carla M. DewBerry as a partner in the health care practice. She was with Garvey Schubert Barer. She represents clients on Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, as well as related audits and litigation, and also counsels on general corporate and transactional matters.
Demand Media of Kirkland, a media and domain services company, added Wayne MacLaurin as senior vice president of technology for its subsidiary United TLD, which offers top level domain services. MacLaurin will manage operation of the registry systems as the company prepares for expansion. MacLaurin was CTO of Sedari, a registry consulting and outsourcing service.
