City of Kenmore

Moen

The city of Kenmore named Brandon Moen as its next chief of police. Moen is a sergeant and 13-year veteran of the King County Sheriff's Office, where he is assigned to the city of Shoreline. The King County Sheriff's Office contracts its law enforcement services with both cities. Moen will start his new role next month. He replaces Peter Horvath, who is being promoted to captain in the King County Sheriff's Office. Kenmore's police department consists of 14 officers, including one detective.

Amazon

Seattle-based Amazon next year will open its first fulfillment center in Idaho in partnership with Panattoni Development Co. The 650,000-square-foot building will be located in Nampa and will create over 1,000 full-time jobs.

Skagit County

Skagit County's Poop Smart campaign won a Diamond Award from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association. The campaign is a collaboration between Skagit County's Pollution Identification and Correction Program and PRR, a Seattle-based communications firm. The goal of the campaign is to reduce levels of fecal coliform bacteria in surface waters by raising awareness of proper poop-related choices. Only three of more than 700 entries received the Diamond Award. The campaign also received the Savvy Award in the Marketing and Tools — Best Use of Humor category.

Dutch Bros. Coffee

Phoenix-based RJ Russo installed Dutch Bros. Coffee's first factory-built modular drive-thru, in Gresham, Oregon. Russo formed a partnership with Dutch Bros. for future factory-built units. The collaboration includes Luna Design and Construction. Russo uses steel and sustainable products instead of wood and other deteriorating products to maximize the life span of its modular units. Dutch Bros. is based in Grants Pass, Oregon, and has over 350 locations in seven states.

Idaho National Laboratory

Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls won a 2019 PMI Project Excellence Award from the Project Management Institute. INL won the kudos for its $77.6 million Remote-Handled Low-Level Waste Disposal Project. The awards program recognizes complex projects with budgets under $100 million.

America's Automotive Trust

Jennifer Maher is the new CEO of America's Automotive Trust, which includes entities America's Car Museum and RPM Foundation. Maher took over for David Madeira, who retired after 17 years with the Tacoma-based nonprofit. Madeira continues as vice chair of the board and is assisting Maher with fund development. Also, the boards of America's Automotive Trust and America's Car Museum merged into one board that provides oversight to both entities.

City of Kenmore

The Kenmore City Council approved an agreement for city attorney services with Inslee Best Doezie & Ryder, and City Manager Rob Karlinsey appointed Dawn Reitan of Inslee Best as the new city attorney. Reitan has represented cities for over 26 years and has been with Inslee Best since 2000. She is currently the city attorney for Newcastle and Brier (and will continue in these roles), and has been acting city attorney for Kenmore since Rod Kaseguma retired earlier this year.

Maven

Paul Edmondson is the new president of Seattle-based Maven, an expert-driven group media network platform. Edmondson had been serving operationally as president since early in the year, but now his appointment is official. He replaces Josh Jacobs, who remains as a full-time executive. Edmondson was COO and continues with that role in addition to president.

Soul Community Planet

Soul Community Planet appointed Tobias Colvin as general manager of its renovated 49-room hotel in Redmond, Oregon, which is opening next month. Colvin has over 19 years of luxury hospitality management experience in hotel and resort operations. He previously held a senior leadership role at Black Butte Ranch in Sisters, Oregon. Soul Community Planet is based in San Juan Capistrano, California. It operates another hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Frazier Healthcare Partners

Frazier Healthcare Partners is buying Mednax's MedData business for $250 million. Brecksville, Ohio-based MedData provides technology-enabled management services for hospitals, health systems and health care providers. It has over 20 regional offices across the country, including Seattle, Bellevue, Portland and Spokane. Frazier invests in health care companies. It has offices in Seattle and Menlo Park, California. Mednax is based in Sunrise, Florida.
