There will always be purists who stand by the timeless quality of cast iron lampposts. But some purists may have a hard time telling the new composite posts from the old, according to Dave Farabaugh, vice president of W.J. Whatley Inc.
The Denver-based company is the country's number one manufacturer of composite light poles and lampposts, and quickly gaining market share in the $500 million-a-year industry.
