Construction Industry Spotlight: Feds OK $180M Cross-Base Highway

  • But the project that would run through McChord and Fort Lewis still needs funding.

    The Federal Highway Administration gave its stamp of approval last week to plans to build a new highway across military lands in Pierce County.

    The proposed Cross-Base Highway would run across 6 miles of McChord Air Force Base and Fort Lewis to connect Interstate 5 to the Parkland-Spanaway area.
