Mechanical contractor Holaday-Parks has promoted Rae Anne Leitner to vice president of pre-construction and project management services for the Design/Build Division. Leitner is a practicing engineer who holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington. She also serves on the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers' board of governors as vice president/secretary. Some of her past projects include Pacific Place, ZymoGenetics and Targeted Genetics.

Charles Pankow Builders has hired Mark Pesanti as a project superintendent and Eric Holopainen as a project sponsor. Pesanti has over 20 years of construction experience and is currently coordinating the Red Door relocation project in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood. Holopainen has over 30 years of experience and holds an architectural technology degree from Ryerson College in Toronto. He is working on a 40-story highrise project at Third and Mission in San Francisco.

AGC of Washington

The Associated General Contractors of Washington installed its officers and trustees for 2001 during last month's annual meeting in Seattle. The new officers include: Bill Alexander of Edifice Construction Co., president; Bob Adams of Guy F. Atkinson Construction, first vice president; Kurt Hildebrand of Lease Crutcher Lewis, second vice president; Gary Jones of S & W Utility Contractors, secretary; and Philo Hall of Lease Crutcher Lewis, treasurer. Also, four district vice presidents were elected. They include: Wilf Wainhouse of Sellen Construction Co. for the Seattle District; David Huber of Impero Contracting for the Northern District; Len Zarelli of Merit Company for the Southern District; and Mike Poppoff of Poppoff Inc. for the Central District. Elected as trustees were: Kevin Ash of Blue Sky Landscape Services, Chris Buchanan of Charter Construction, Jason Decker of Elcon Corp., Mike Ducey of W.G. Heery International has appointed Ralph W. Rohwer and James C. Chapman as executive associates. Rohwer has been with the firm for nearly 20 years and is currently the program manager for the Seattle School District's building program, which Heery has been managing since 1995. He graduated from the University of Alaska at Fairbanks with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Chapman is the company's Northwest director of support services. His responsibilities include supervision of service departments, contract management, business management for the region, and organizational analysis and development of alternative contracting approaches for Heery's clients in the Northwest. He is a member of the American Arbitration Association and holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Oregon. Both work out of the firm's Seattle office. Heery is a full-service design, engineering and construction management firm with over 1,100 employees in 30 offices worldwide.

Three promotions have been made at Charles Pankow Builders' Bellevue office: Bruce McBride has been named vice president and area manager for the Pacific Northwest, Keith Henrickson has moved up to corporate director of project development, and Mark Fellows has been appointed group manager for the Pacific Northwest Special Projects Division. McBride will relocate to the Seattle area from the company's head office in Altadena, Calif. He will be responsible for all regional activities. Henrickson will continue to operate from the Bellevue office, but will add new corporate responsibilities for planning project development. Fellows will be overseeing the completion of the Provail and Red Door projects in Fremont, as well as all local Pankow special projects.

HCI Steel Building Systems

Jason McDaniel has been appointed customer service manager at HCI Steel Building Systems in Arlington. His new duties include scheduling of manufacturing operations. He joined the company in 1990 and most recently served as chief draftsman. The role of chief draftsman has been taken over by Stacey Gunn. His duties include acting as a liaison with the company's engineering department on the ongoing development of its MBS system. Gunn joined the firm in 1989. HCI is a certified manufacturer of pre-engineered metal buildings.

Nielsen-Wurster Group

The Nielsen-Wurster Group, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, has promoted Patricia D. Galloway from president to chief executive officer. She replaces Kris Nielsen, who will continue to serve as chairman of the board. Galloway holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and is listed as one of school's Distinguished Engineering Alumni. She also is a certified project management professional and holds professional engineering licenses in 11 states. The company also announced that Jack Dignum -- Western regional manager for the Seattle and Carlsbad, Calif., offices -- has been elected as a vice president and appointed as corporate manager of the Management Consulting Division. The Nielsen-Wurster Group specializes in construction dispute resolution, management consulting and risk management. The company claims it was the first U.S. firm to develop the Window Analysis technique -- which has been effectively used since 1976 in legal environments for analyzing delays and addressing delay concurrency on construction projects around the world.

Diamond Home Improvement

Pacific Coast Building Products has entered into a partnership with Klamath Investors to purchase the operating assets and inventory of the former Supply One locations in Grants Pass and Klamath Falls, Ore. The new entity will operate as Diamond Home Improvement. Tim Steiner will oversee the stores, which are suppliers of building materials including wallboard, lumber, masonry products and other home improvement items. Both locations will serve the homeowner as well as the general contractor, subcontractor and remodeling contractor markets. Full delivery services are offered for all of the 30,000 items that the stores will have available. Diamond has been open since December 2000 and will celebrate its grand opening in mid-March.
