Houston-based Hanover Co. opened a construction office in Bellevue, its first in the Pacific Northwest. Scott Lee, a former Skanska senior vice president, is overseeing the regional office, at 1715 114th Ave. S.E., Suite 110. Lee holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Oregon State University. Hanover specializes in developing mixed-use and multifamily properties, and is building a luxury apartment tower in downtown Bellevue.
Mayes Testing Engineers promoted inspector Dan Whornham to project manager. Whornham has been with the company for eight years. He holds many Washington Association of Building Officials licenses, and has experience in precast concrete and waterproofing systems.
The Associated General Contractors of Washington installed its new officers and trustees. New officers include: President Gus Gottschalk of Lydig Construction; First Vice President David D'Hondt of Absher Construction Co.; Second Vice President Steve Barger of Northwest Cascade; Secretary/Treasurer Van Hardy of GLY Construction; and Past President Brett Ferullo of Northwest Construction. Trustees include: Cedric "Butch" Brooks of Woodworth & Co., John Bullwinkel of Howard S. Wright Construction Co., Jerry Bush of University Mechanical Contractors, Pamm Jardine of Kibble & Prentice, Paul Koshiyama of BMWC Constructors, Steve Parkinson of Groff Murphy Trachtenberg & Everard, Todd Vacura of Ferguson Construction, Tom Zamzow of Wilder Construction Co., and William Bender of Central Washington University. The AGC also appointed district representatives. They include: Pat McGarry of Manson Construction Co., Seattle District representative; Steve Isenhart of Tiger Construction, Northern District representative; Darron Pease of Pease & Sons, Southern District representative; and Bill Kloster of MSI Construction, Central Washington District representative.
Detec Systems opened its new U.S. corporate headquarters in Tacoma at 711 Saint Helens Ave., Suite 201. The moisture detection and monitoring services company moved from the Atlantic seaboard. Duncan Townsend, executive vice president, heads up operations in Tacoma, which include business development, marketing and accounting. A company press release says it will expand its team in the coming months.
