Lease Crutcher Lewis

Construction for Change, Hermanson Co. and Lease Crutcher Lewis volunteered to build a community garden in Kent for World Relief Seattle. The garden provides food for immigrants and refugees. Twenty-two volunteers built six raised ADA-accessible planter beds and three composting areas. Pacific Construction Supply donated materials and tools, as did Hermanson and Lewis. Construction for Change is a nonprofit that partners with community organizations on infrastructure projects, recruits professional volunteers, and manages the work.

PCL Construction

The local office of PCL Construction Services donated $5,000 to Food Lifeline and Northwest Harvest. The donation was expected to result in about 20,000 meals. It's the ninth consecutive year that PCL has helped out with holiday meals.

In Seattle, The Walsh Group hired Michael Ireland as quality control manager, and Branden Reynolds and Joe Beitinger as project engineers. Ireland previously worked on the Smith Island Estuary project north of Everett and the Highway 99 waterfront tunnel in Seattle, where he was lead field inspector. Reynolds has 10 years of industry experience working for Boudreau Pipeline, Stellar J and Pearson Drilling. Beitinger previously worked at Imco General Construction on upgrades to the fire, life and safety systems in the Interstate 90 Mercer Island and Mount Baker tunnels.

Novinium

Gulezian

In Kent, Novinium hired Ken Gulezian as safety director. Gulezian previously managed and directed safety programs in the construction and electrical industries. He holds a bachelor's degree in health and safety management from Central Washington University, and is a certified Construction Health Safety Technician. Novinium rejuvenates underground cables for electric utilities.
