General contractor Swinerton named Nick Vovakes as vice president and division manager of its Seattle office. Vovakes has over 20 years of construction industry experience, most recently as operations manager at Swinerton, where he has worked since 2011. The Seattle office is expanding its mass timber work, along with health care and life sciences projects. It also focuses on self-performed work. Vovakes' predecessor, Dave Worley, will retire in October after 21 years with the company. Swinerton is headquartered in Concord, California, with Pacific Northwest regional offices in Seattle, Spokane, Portland and Boise.
