Sutter Metals has opened a new specialized recycling facility in Tacoma on a 3.18-acre site on South Burlington Way.
The 30,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building has 27,000 square feet of warehouse space on the main floor and 3,000 square feet for office and break room spaces on the second floor.
The project involved extensive sitework, such as grading and demolition of existing concrete, stormwater systems, excavation and backfills, new concrete work pads, approaches and sidewalks.
The contractor worked with subcontractors and used the design-build process to develop cost-effective solutions for fire sprinkler, plumbing, HVAC, electrical and fire alarm systems.
Sutter will be recycling all types of ferrous and non-ferrous metals along with automobiles and motorhomes.
