Ricky Langford has been promoted to vice president at Heery International, an international construction and project management firm.
Langford, who joined Heery last year, is a manager in the program and project management practice of Heery's Northwest regional office in Seattle. She has 30 years experience in healthcare, airport and corrections projects.
Langford's recent assignments include the Northwestern Memorial Hospital redevelopment project in Chicago and the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport expansion in Seattle.

Two Northwest contractors recently won awards from the American Society of Concrete Contractors. Cameron Contracting of Spokane and Poppoff Inc. of Yakima each won a Zero Lost Time Accident Achievement Award. Both also won the association's Certificate of Recognition for having incident rates below the national average for all contractors. Poppoff won a third award for safety improvement.
The American Road & Transportation Builders Association has won a 2000 Associations Advance America Award from the American Society of Association Executives. The association won the award for its role on promoting safety in roadway construction sites through the National Work Zone Safety Information Clearinghouse, which it partnered with the Federal Highway Administration on. The program is aimed at reducing the more than 700 deaths and 37,000 injures that occur every year on road construction sites.

Ralph W. Johnson of Turner Construction was elected 2000-2001 president of the Associated General Contractors of America at the group's convention last week in Seattle. Johnson is a senior vice president for Turner in New York City. Other officers elected at the event include:
Advanced American Diving Service of Oregon City, Ore., has won the 2000 AON/AGC Build America Award in the category of Municipal/Utilities. The award was presented March 11 during the AGC of America convention in Seattle. Advanced American Diving was cited for its work on the East Bank Esplanade project in Portland. The job included building a 1,000-foot floating walkway along the Willamette River, reportedly the longest built in the country.
Charles A. Russell III of Westhill Inc., a Woodinville-based remodeling business, has earned the designation of Certified Graduate Remodelor from the National Association of Home Builders. To achieve the certification, a candidate must finish a series of industry-specific education courses, serve for at least five years as an owner or principal of a remodeling company, and demonstrate exceptional business integrity.
