Schuchart Corp. has promoted
Casey Schuchart and
Jeremy Von Wandruszka to project managers, and hired
Scott Stevenson in the estimating department. Casey Schuchart was previously a senior project engineer. He has been with the company for five years and holds a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary humanities from the University of San Diego. Von Wandruszka joined the company last fall as an assistant project manager after working as a carpenter and superintendent in Idaho. He holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Idaho. Stevenson has over 20 years of construction experience. Prior to joining Schuchart, he was a project and construction manager at Coffman Engineers. He holds bachelor's degrees in construction management and business administration from Washington State University.
Peter Handford of Tech-Fast Self Storage Buildings has won the firm's 2004 Employee of the Year Award. Handford is a construction coordinator whose job is to get self-storage projects built on time and within budget. He has 12 years of field construction and erection experience in the self-storage industry.
Lyle Schellenberg, president of Salem, Ore.'s Armadillo Underground, has been named 2004 Ditchdigger of the Year by the National Utility Contractors Association. Schellenberg has more than 25 years of experience in a variety of trenchless technologies. He is serving as secretary of NUCA and has served as president of the Utility Contractors Association of Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Lease Crutcher Lewis has promoted
Bryce Taylor to director of business development for the Seattle office. Taylor has been with the company for 18 years, primarily in project management. In his new role, he is focusing on marketing, client relationships and community involvement, while maintaining a technical role on select projects.

Andrew Aiken is the new CFO at Sellen Construction Co. in Seattle. The company also promoted
Barry Strand to project manager and
Clark Lindsay to field manager. Aiken is replacing Kurt Nulph, who plans to retire in December after 17 years with the company. Aiken's responsibilities include management of financial functions, capital planning and investment, and oversight of all insurance and stock ownership matters. He is a graduate of UCLA and Seattle University's School of Law. Strand has been with the company for 17 years and Lindsay for six.

The Construction Industry Training Council of Washington has hired
Bret Pinyerd as assistant to the vice president of education and
Danelle Baer as registrar. Pinyerd is responsible for scheduling continuing education classes, facility scheduling, and coordinating with the state for class certification and licensing renewal. He previously coordinated continuing medical education in Texas. He holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Howard Payne University. Baer is responsible for registering continuing education and craft training students, and monitoring student assessments. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Colorado State University.
