Home Technologies is closing the electrical division of its Bellevue operations to focus all of its resources on its low-voltage division. The company plans to complete existing electrical contracts and wind the business unit down in 2006. Many of the affected employees are expected to apply for positions within the low-voltage division.

Peter Schroeder joined GLY Construction as a project manager; and Peter Avratin, Stephen Schoenfelder and Claus Laundrup are new project engineers. Schroeder is an accredited LEED certified professional. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington. Avratin will graduate in June with a master's degree in construction management from the UW. Schoenfelder holds a master's degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin. Laundrup will graduate in June with a construction management certificate from the UW.

Aecon Buildings

Lynnwood's Aecon Buildings promoted Will Martin to director of sales and added Suzy Lords as marketing coordinator. Martin has been with the company for nearly two years as a project manager. He has over 20 years of experience as an architect and project manager, and was one of the artists that sculpted the Fremont Troll. He holds an MBA and a master's degree in architecture from the University of Washington. Lords has several years of marketing experience in the software industry. She holds a bachelor's degree in business, technology and innovation management from the UW.

Aaron Harrington of Global Diving and Salvage has been promoted to manager of remediation operations. Harrington holds a bachelor's degree in environmental science from Washington State University, and recently completed the certificate program in construction management at the University of Washington.

RemcoDeacon

Bellevue-based repair and restoration specialist RemcoDeacon recently donated the proceeds of its third annual charity golf tournament to Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Puget Sound, a nonprofit organization that assists families of young cancer patients. The tournament was held Aug. 11 at The Golf Club at Newcastle.

NAWIC

The American Council for Construction Education recently selected the National Association of Women in Construction's Education Foundation as a provider of quality continuing education. The selection was based on the content and value of the foundation's Certified Construction Associate program, which covers a variety of construction fundamentals.
