The Renton CPA firm of Merrill Carlson & Co. was accepted into CICPAC, the Construction Industry CPA/Consultants Association. CICPAC members are selected for their experience in and commitment to serving the construction industry. They must demonstrate proficiency in providing construction services and have a reputation for high-quality work and integrity. Only one firm is accepted by the CICPAC per market area.

American Home Centers of Fife signed an agreement with Clayton Homes to design custom exteriors for Clayton's houses. The homes initially will be available in Spokane, Kennewick, Yakima, Moses Lake and Fife. Clayton is owned by Berkshire Hathaway.
Building Design and Construction magazine recognized Turner Construction Co. as having the most LEED Accredited Professionals in the architectural, engineering and construction industries. The New York City-based contractor has 1,186 LEED APs on staff.
The Associated Builders and Contractors launched its Green Contractor Certification program to document the efforts of merit shop construction firms with sustainable workplace environments. The program focuses on the green initiatives ABC members undertake in the workplace, not on construction practices. To become certified, a company must submit an application detailing its green efforts and undergo a third-party on-site assessment.
