Portland CFMA

The Portland Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association has put together its 2010 board. Strang
Seattle residential builder Schuchart/Dow hired Peter Strang to manage its cabinet and furniture shop. The company said its goal is to streamline custom design and fabrication on its projects. Strang has more than 20 years of experience in residential building and design, with a focus on kitchens and whole-house cabinetry. He cofounded Henrybuilt and owns Propellor Design Build. He holds a bachelor's degree in studio art from the University of Colorado and studied at Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy, and St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y.

NCCER, ACT

ACT Inc. and the National Center for Construction Education and Research are partnering to provide an entry point to construction careers. ACT will apply its research and workforce readiness solutions to assist NCCER in ensuring that prospective and current construction workers have the skills to succeed in NCCER-accredited training courses and on the job. Once launched, NCCER will begin issuing National Career Readiness Certificates to trainees in four levels: platinum, gold, silver and bronze.
