Allan Osberg last week won the 2010 Distinguished Service Award from the Associated General Contractors of Washington Education Foundation. Osberg was cited for his contributions to the foundation and his role in educating the future construction workforce through donations such as the annual Mr. and Mrs. Allan F. Osberg Scholarship. He was president twice of local chapters of the AGC of Washington, and was president of the Education Foundation and still serves on the board. He also received an AGC Lifetime Achievement Award and is in the University of Washington Construction Hall of Fame.
Valley Electric hired
Hardy Wood as marketing director in the Everett office. Wood has been an estimator and project manager in the local commercial electrical industry for 35 years.
JE Dunn Construction Co. appointed
Jeff Campbell as senior vice president of the Northwest region, where he is responsible for the firm's Portland and Seattle offices. Campbell has worked at Dunn for more than 25 years and has been in the industry for more than 32 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in building construction management from Purdue University.
Professional Service Industries promoted Daniel Kuhn to branch manager of the Mountlake Terrace office. Kuhn holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri–Columbia, and completed PSI's Manager-in-Training program. He has been with the company since June of 2008.
Hillsboro, Ore.-based Parr Lumber Co. yesterday celebrated its 80th anniversary. The company started when Dwight Parr Sr. leased Evergreen Lumber Co., a bankrupt building materials business in Vancouver, and renamed it Parr Lumber Co. It is still owned by Parr's grandchildren Michael Parr, Brad Farmer and Nancy Cranston.

Gig Harbor's Washington Patriot Construction hired
Zerah Florence as quality control manager for a $5.5 million project at Naval Base Kitsap in Bremerton. Florence has a background in both architecture and construction. She will be at the project site full time.
Spokane's Ziegler Lumber Co., which operates as Ziggy's, is closing its store at 4220 N. Market St. in Spokane to make way for the North/South Freeway project. Ziggy's has other stores on East Holland Avenue in Spokane and East Sprague Avenue in Spokane Valley, as well as Moses Lake and Idaho.
Monroe-based Canyon Creek Cabinet Co. appointed KDN Associates to represent its cabinet lines on the East Coast. KDN is based in Horsham, Pa.
