Tyler Leland joined Gateway Construction Services in Seattle as senior project manager. Leland spent the past 13 years at Pennon Construction, where he managed a variety of tenant improvement projects costing up to $3.4 million. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington.
Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers CEO Peter Blake will step down from his role in May 2014. Blake joined the company in 1991 and served as CEO since 2004. Ritchie's board is working with an executive recruiting firm to find a replacement.
Spokane Valley-based Divcon Inc. won a 2013 Alphonse J. Engelman Safety Award from the Tilt-Up Concrete Association. Divcon won in the category Most Improved Safety Achievement. The award was presented last month in Houston.
Snohomish-based Snyder Roofing of Washington earned the 2013 Firestone Partner in Quality Award for roofing excellence. Snyder is one of 207 Firestone Red Shield licensed contractors throughout North America that won the award.

Dennis Laubach joined Mortenson Construction as a field engineer assigned to the Chambers Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant in University Place. Laubach holds a bachelor's degree in construction engineering from Montana State University.


Andersen Construction added Travis Counsell, Dan Sandvik and Brent Wilcox in its Seattle office. Counsell is a superintendent in the Special Projects Division. He has 19 years of experience on projects ranging from restaurants to high-end residential to commercial. Sandvik, also a superintendent, has 15 years of construction experience on a wide-range of projects. Wilcox is a project engineer working in the Special Projects Division.

Consultant Sharlet Driggs joined the Amento Group, where she is providing project management, building defect analysis, investigation forensics, litigation support and remediation planning. Driggs has 24 years of experience as a project manager, estimator and project engineer. She spent the last 10 years running her own consulting business.

Jason Goetz was promoted to construction manager at PCL Construction Services in Bellevue, where he is leading the team for the Seneca Apartment Community in Seattle. Goetz interned at PCL during college and joined the company permanently in 2004 as a project coordinator. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Central Washington University, and is a Designated Design Build Professional and LEED Accredited Professional.

Frontier Communications appointed Willard “Will” Burge as general manager of its Bothell market, where he is overseeing field operations and sales. Burge has 33 years of telecom experience, and joined Frontier in 2010 as general manager of the Coos Bay, Ore., market. He now reports to Vicky Oxley, Frontier's vice president/general manager for Western Washington. Frontier provides Internet, phone and television services.
