McDonald

Kent-based mechanical contractor Hermanson Co. made Jason M. McDonald a partner and member of the leadership team. McDonald has been the company's estimating manager since 2011, where he improved project data tracking and estimating. He will continue to manage estimating and project cost information services, as well as project development, cost estimating and value engineering for select clients. McDonald formerly was mechanical estimating leader for both W.A. Botting Co. of Seattle and Sun Mechanical Contracting of Tucson, Ariz.

SMACNA-Western Washington

Reynolds

Jim Reynolds of PSF Mechanical was recently installed as president of SMACNA-Western Washington for a two-year term. Reynolds succeeds Doug Happe of Emerald Aire, who remains on the board as chapter councilor. Also elected to the 2014-15 board are Rick Hermanson of Hermanson Co. as vice president and Eric van der Veen of Holaday-Parks as secretary/treasurer. Newly elected trustees are Ned Gebert of McKinstry Co. and Tom Montgomery of ACCO Engineered Systems. Returning trustees are Brian Fluetsch of Sunset Air and Helga Rebitzer of Olympia Sheet Metal.

Port of Seattle, Sound Transit, WSDOT

The Port of Seattle, Sound Transit and the Washington State Department of Transportation recognized three companies with Champion of Inclusion awards at the Fourth Annual Prime Contractor & Consultant Champion Awards and Business After-Hours Reception. Each agency handed out an award at the event. The winners were: Regency Northwest Construction, from the Port of Seattle; Hoffman Construction Co., from Sound Transit; and Scarsella Brothers, from WSDOT.

Milgard Windows & Doors

Builder magazine named Milgard Windows & Doors “2014 Most Used Vinyl Brand” for windows in the nation. The recognition was based on a brand use study that sampled more than 74,000 builders, builder/developers and general contractors across the U.S. It was the fifth time that Milgard came out on top for vinyl windows. Tacoma-based Milgard is a Masco company.
