Eddy

Swinerton Builders hired Wayne Eddy as senior project manager and Pat Muma as superintendent for its Northwest Division, which has offices in Bellevue and Portland. Eddy, with 30 years of construction experience, is focusing on pre-construction services and new construction. Muma, with 18 years of construction experience, is working primarily in tenant improvements. Swinerton expects 2014 revenues for its Northwest division to exceed $100 million.

Chris Purcell is the new chief technology officer in McKinstry's Seattle office, where he is establishing the company's technical vision and guiding technological development. Purcell spent 13 years as vice president of technology at Vulcan Inc. He holds a bachelor's degree from Purdue University and is a graduate of the Leadership Tomorrow program in Seattle.

Smith

BNBuilders hired Adam Smith as superintendent in the Seattle office. Smith has overseen data center, higher education and biotech projects in the Seattle area. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Central Washington University. BNBuilders has regional offices in Spokane, San Francisco and San Diego.

High Country Contractors & Developers

DePriest

Renton-based High Country Contractors & Developers hired Ryan DePriest as estimator/project manager. Since 2009, DePriest has managed retail tenant improvements and special projects, primarily in the petroleum sector. He holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and has 14 years of experience in residential and commercial construction.

Matheus Lumber Co.

Ashbaugh

Matheus Lumber Co. of Woodinville hired Bryan Ashbaugh to head outside sales and marketing throughout the Puget Sound region. Ashbaugh was CEO of Street of Dreams Inc., which has produced 88 Street of Dreams events in major cities throughout North America since 1985. He also worked for Glacier Park Co., a real estate subsidiary of the old Burlington Northern Railway.

University Mechanical Contractors

University Mechanical Contractors won a national safety award from the Associated General Contractors of America. The Mukilteo-based company won first place in the Specialty Division (300,001-500,000 work hours) of the Willis Safety Awards. It was cited for its innovation to develop safety solutions; empowerment of frontline workers; leadership in regional organizations to promote safety for all industry workers; and its company-wide safety program.

Venture General Contracting added Richard Craiger and Timothy Taruscio as superintendents, Brian Finney and Jesse McDaniels as assistant superintendents, Robert Kuemper as estimator, and Cheryl Storrs as project coordinator/contract administrator. The Seattle-based builder also added Charles White as superintendent and Matt Schille as project engineer in the Tenant Improvement Division. Venture provides pre-construction services, construction management and value engineering. Its current projects exceed $375 million in value.

Inland Northwest AGC

Wayne Brokaw is the new chair of the Executive Leadership Council of the Associated General Contractors of America, and Vince Campanella is the new board president of the Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors. Brokaw is executive director of the Inland Northwest AGC and has been with the association since 2002. The Leadership Council is comprised of AGC chapter executives. Campanella is vice president of operations for Lydig Construction. He has served on the Inland Northwest AGC board since 2007. Other board officers are Mike Reilly of Cameron-Reilly LLC, senior vice president, and Robert Seghetti of Acme Concrete Paving, vice president. Also, John Madden of Inland Asphalt Co. is a new board member.

Interior Tech

Gladu

Interior Tech, a building specialty contractor in Seattle and Portland, hired Christen Gladu for the newly created position of architectural representative. Gladu is focusing on business development in the Seattle and Portland areas, as well as Western Washington. She previously was director of sales and marketing at Christian Gladu Design and the Bungalow Co. in Bend, Ore. Prior to that, she was an interior designer in Seattle at Marcia Johnson Interior Design, Forma, a division of Westin Hotels, and NBBJ. She holds a bachelor's degree in interior architecture from the University of Oregon. Interior Tech sells and supports fire, light, sound, space and security products.
