Beaudoin

Seattle-based Venture General Contracting added Jack Beaudoin as partner. Beaudoin is working with existing partner Matt Parent on expanding the firm's commercial construction markets. Prior to joining Venture, Beaudoin had a long career in the Seattle office of Turner Construction Co., where he served as general manager and division manager. He also served on the board of the Associated General Contractors and Urban Land Institute Seattle District Council. Venture recently moved into new headquarters at 1631 15th Ave. W. to accommodate its growth. It is managing more than $375 million in projects.

General contractor Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted Mariam Abarientos to accounting manager; and hired Holly Orbeta as accounting assistant in Accounts Payable, Kristin Warren and Maarten Dons as operations assistants, and Ryan Dahle and Ken Hokens as project engineers. Abarientos joined Lewis in 1996 and has been in supervisory positions in accounting since 2011. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration/accounting from Seattle University. Orbeta has been in accounting since 1999. She holds a bachelor's degree from Western Washington University and an associate's degree from Spokane Falls Community College. Warren has 13 years of operations experience and holds an associate's degree from BCTI. Dons has more than 30 years of administrative, marketing and management experience. Dahle has been in construction since 2004 and holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Brigham Young University. Hokens has been a union ironworker and foreman for 11 years. He holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Northern Michigan University.

Absher Construction

Steve Watkins, chief estimator at Absher Construction, achieved a Certified Professional Estimator rating from the American Society of Professional Estimators. For certification, Watkins wrote a technical paper on estimating and took a two-part exam lasting 12 hours. ASPE picked Watkins' technical paper on design-build projects to publish in its June edition of Estimating Today. Absher says there is only one other CPE in the state holding the discipline-specific General Contracting Certification.

Abbott Construction hired Jim Parker as superintendent, Quinn Starkey as project engineer, Jenny Saephanh as project assistant and Justin Sinconis as service coordinator. Parker has 30 years of experience, and is overseeing tenant improvements at the Living Computer Museum. Starkey holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington and is supporting various retail and CenturyLink Field projects. Saephanh has extensive project support experience and is assisting the estimating department. In the new service coordinator role at Abbott, Sinconis is working under the Special Projects Division and is managing a variety of small service projects.

The Seattle office of building enclosure consulting firm RDH Building Sciences added Denise Dana as maintenance and planning project manager, Denali Jones as project coordinator, Andrew Dillenbeck as building science engineer, Shawn McIsaac as project engineer, Vira Peterson and Josie Kies as office coordinators, Penny Short as receptionist and Sarah Ferguson as human resources generalist. Dana has more than 10 years of construction experience, and is a registered architect and reserve specialist. Jones relocated from Vancouver, B.C., where he developed air leakage testing equipment for a major manufacturer. Dillenbeck comes from Virginia, where he worked for a building sciences firm. McIsaac specializes in the evaluation, maintenance and renewal of existing buildings. He worked for nine years in Vancouver, B.C., for RDH.

Imco General Construction

Ferndale-based Imco General Construction promoted Brian Smith to the newly created position of director of technology. Smith joined Imco in 2013 as a senior BIM/modeling designer. He has more than 16 years of design experience in the energy, water, wastewater and structural engineering markets. Imco is unifying its efforts to use technology as efficiently as possible.

Goldfinch Bros.

Brian Cornish joined Goldfinch Bros. as business development manager in the Residential Division. Cornish is working with architects and builders throughout the Puget Sound region. He has more than 20 years of experience in the high-end residential window industry. Everett-based Goldfinch is a glass and glazing company serving the commercial and residential markets.

Julian Anderson, president of Rider Levett Bucknall's North American practice, was appointed chairman of the firm's international Central Consulting Services group. Anderson is based in Phoenix, and has written articles for the DJC. Rider Levett Bucknall provides project management, construction cost consulting, and related property and construction advisory services. It has offices world-wide, including one in Seattle.
