MBA of Pierce County

The Master Builders Association of Pierce County handed out awards last month at its annual President’s Ball. The winners were: Kent Arola of Wind River Homes, Recruiter of the Year; Sheila Off of Signature Design & Cabinetry, Outstanding Associate — Design Professional; Billie Jo Hyland of Hyland Cabinetworks, Outstanding Associate — Supplier; Josh Dunn of South Sound Magazine, Outstanding Associate — Professional; Kevin Kartak and Chris Lockhart of AAA Kartak Glass & Closet, Outstanding Associate — Subcontractor; Wren & Willow, Remodeler of the Year and Member of the Year (Laureen Skrivan); Mark Egner of Frank & Sons Construction, Community Service Volunteer of the Year; Pelland Enterprises & JE Pelland Construction, Community Service Volunteer of the Year; Sean Comfort of AHBL, Robert Camp Legislative Action Award; Kurt Wilson of SoundBuilt Northwest, Robert Camp Legislative Action Award; Jill Ginn Kerbaugh of Vernon Co., New Member of the Year; Sunrise Development Corp. of Washington, Production Builder of the Year (1-20 units); SoundBuilt Northwest, Production Builder of the Year (20-plus units); Mike Schwartz Construction, Custom Builder of the Year; Contract Furnishings Mart, Company of the Year; Bob Camp of Camp Corp., Presidents Award and Lifetime Achievement Award; and Mike and Carolin Fast of MRF Construction, Presidents Award.

Korsmo Construction

Eshenbaugh

Tacoma-based Korsmo Construction hired Sherry Eshenbaugh to lead the company's new Virtual Design and Construction Division. Eshenbaugh, LEED AP BD+C, holds master's degrees in both architecture and construction engineering management, and has more than 30 years of design and construction experience. She previously was a project architect, project manager and BIM manager.

Alliance Residential

Phoenix-based Alliance Residential appointed Jeremiah Jolicoeur as managing director for the Pacific Northwest region, where he is overseeing development of high-end multifamily communities in West Seattle and Capitol Hill's Pike-Pine Corridor. Jolicoeur is also in charge of market review, strategy evaluation, land opportunity negotiation, construction coordination, and leasing and asset disposition in the Seattle and Portland markets. He is based in Seattle and has been with Alliance for six years.

L&I

The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators elected Brian Haight to a five-year term on its commission. Haight is the cranes technical specialist and crane certification program supervisor at the state Department of Labor and Industries. NCCCO is headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia.

Vigor Industrial

The Seattle Colleges District named Vigor Industrial a 2014 Constance W. Rice Partner of the Year. Vigor was chosen for its partnership with South Seattle College to provide space for the Harbor Island Training Center, which serves maritime and industrial fabrication companies and trains the next generation of welders.

Hammer & Hand

Green Builder magazine awarded Hammer & Hand two Green Home of the Year awards for its Karuna House and Pumpkin Ridge Passive House projects. Karuna House, in Oregon's Yamhill County, won Best Building Science; and Pumpkin Ridge, in North Plains, Oregon, won Best Mainstream Green. Hammer & Hand has offices in Seattle and Portland.
