McKinstry promoted Cheryl Di Re to chief administrative officer, Ron Johnson to chief operating officer, Ash Awad to chief market officer and Mike Porter to vice president of facilities. Di Re oversees IT, human resources, communications, community engagement and brand/creative services departments. Johnson oversees all regions and their operations, as well as corporate safety initiatives. Awad is in charge of corporate sales, sales management and business development. Porter is in charge of the Facilities Solutions department.

Joseph Irons, owner of Irons Brothers Construction, was installed as the 2016 board president of the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties. Other 2016 officers are: Patrick McBride, immediate past president; Mike Walsh of Terrene Ventures, first vice president; Erich Armbruster of Ashworth Homes, second vice president; Jayson Buechler of Housing Capital Co., secretary; and Paul Bogel of Home Street Bank, financial director. Mortenson Construction

The Seattle office of Mortenson Construction hired Eric Hielema and Tamara Hartner as senior project managers, Marc Michon as project manager, Tyson Wagner as senior electrical superintendent, Rachel VanderWerff as administration assistant and Danita Ruby in the estimating department. Hielema, PE, is managing construction of a wastewater treatment plant for the city of Bend, Oregon. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Southern Illinois University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington. Hartner returns to Mortenson after working for Lydig Construction and The Boldt Co. She has an MEP background. Michon is working on the Carver Academic renovation at Western Washington University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Ferris State University. Wagner is working on the Elliott Bay Seawall. VanderWerff is also working on the WWU Carver project. Ruby holds a bachelor’s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the UW.
