In Gig Harbor, Rush Commercial hired Christopher Rawlins as project manager, Larry Hutchinson as senior project manager and Aaron Wells as carpenter; and promoted Tim Callahan to project manager. Rawlins comes from Abbott Construction, and is experienced in medical, retail and multifamily projects. Hutchinson comes from General Management & Development and Lease Crutcher Lewis. He is experienced in estimating and preconstruction of commercial projects. Wells has been a carpenter for several years locally. Callahan is working on The Origin, a 162-unit apartment in north Seattle. Rush Commercial is one of the six core businesses at The Rush Companies.

Bayley Construction hired Max Jones and Tony Betz as project managers, Rennie Perales and Jon Dasho as project engineers, and Stan Hayes as superintendent. Jones has more than 20 years of experience in commercial, public works, medical and tenant improvement projects. Betz has more than 22 years of experience in managing multiple projects, including medical and office TIs. Perales has experience in retail and mixed-use/multifamily projects. Dasho is a recent graduate of Central Washington University. Hayes has been in the construction industry for more than 30 years, managing medical, retail, high-tech, federal and educational projects.

The board of directors of Apprenticeship & Non-Traditional Employment for Women hired Karen Dove as executive director. Dove comes from RDI Financial, where she was executive director for five years. She formed RDI to provide safe and affordable financial products and development services for individuals and small businesses. Dove is an Accredited Financial Counselor and holds a certificate in Community Development Finance.

Tacoma-based Korsmo Construction hired Pat Riggs to lead the company's Finance Department and support its growing project roster. Riggs has more than 25 years of experience in the construction industry in positions ranging from analyst to CFO to COO. He holds an MBA from the University of Puget Sound.

In Tacoma, Adolfson & Peterson Construction named Kris Beason vice president and general manager for its Pacific Northwest region. Beason has been in the construction industry for nearly 30 years, and has held executive positions for the past 10 years. She has extensive experience with commercial, LEED and special projects, and is involved with the local chapters of CREW, DBIA, NAIOP and ULI.

Bellevue-based Express Construction Co. promoted Chuck Clegern to president and Jason Haggard to CFO, and hired Eric Featherstone as business development manager. Clegern began working with Express chairman Dave Lowry in 1982 as a project manager at SDL Corp. Lowry was president of SDL until he sold the company in 1994 to McCarthy Brothers Construction and formed Express. Clegern worked with McCarthy until 1997, and then Unimark General Contractors and DKA before joining Express in 2012. Haggard joined Express just over a year ago as controller. Express opened a Seattle office in September to support work in the downtown core.

The Bellevue office of Swinerton Builders hired Rick Hall as superintendent; Trevor Flanders, Kevin Dieterich and Jake O'Brien as project engineers; Lisa Ellingson as project coordinator; Robert Beeler as assistant project manager; Cameron Sparks as senior scheduler; and Jeff Crisafulli as senior project manager. Also, safety manager Pete Dalton transferred from Swinerton's San Diego office. Hall is a fourth generation carpenter who has worked on historical remodels, resorts and high rises. Flanders has three years of construction experience, and holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Washington State University. Dieterich spent the last eight years in the National Guard and Army. He is working in Swinerton's estimating department. O'Brien has nearly 10 years of experience as a surveyor, foreman and project engineer. He holds a certificate in construction management from the University of Washington and an associate's degree from Bellevue College. Ellingson has more than 10 years of industry experience. Beeler has built school, mid-rise and multifamily projects. Sparks previously worked as a field engineer, superintendent and assistant project manager. Crisafulli ran his own contracting firm for 35 years. Dalton has been with Swinerton since 2011.

MCA of Western Washington

The Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Washington hired Scott Middleton as general counsel. Middleton previously worked in private practice, and as assistant attorney general representing the state departments of Labor & Industries and Social and Health Services. He is supporting MCA members in labor relations, legislative activities, and state and federal regulatory matters.
