The Seattle office of Abbott Construction hired Ryan Burt as project engineer, Nick Nye as marketing manager and Danielle Mello as administrative assistant. Burt holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from Washington State University and is working on several healthcare projects. Nye has over 25 years of marketing and commercial design experience. Mello is pursuing a bachelor's degree from California State University, Stanislaus.

Code Unlimited

Samir and Asawari Mokashi, founders of Code Unlimited in Portland, are expanding the company's Seattle office and launching EnergyTech Unlimited, a new consultancy focusing on energy-saving building techniques. The Seattle office is relocating to the Polson Building at 71 Columbia St. Eduardo Signorelli is the office manager.

Wall & Ceiling Supply Co.

Seattle-based Wall & Ceiling Supply Co. was bought by Gypsum Management and Supply, a Georgia-based distributor of wallboard, suspended ceiling systems and other specialty building products. Wall & Ceiling has served the local residential and commercial markets for more than 40 years, and will continue to operate under that name with the same management. GMS has a nationwide network of more than 185 distribution centers.

MBA of King and Snohomish Counties

The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties has $30,000 in scholarships for sophomores, juniors and seniors enrolled in residential construction-related programs at colleges and trade and technical schools. Gig Harbor-based Rush Residential hired Renee Parker as sales and production administrator, Jessica Hecker as purchasing assistant and Trevor Sherman as carpenter. Parker is a former community manager and data analyst in the areas of clinical research and mortgage banking. She's also a Lean Six Sigma administrator. Hecker started in the homebuilding industry in 1998, working with accounts payable, permitting and compliance. Sherman has many years of carpentry experience. Rush expects an 80 percent jump this year in sales of its custom homes.

Oregon Tile & Marble

Portland-based Oregon Tile & Marble is now part of Bedrosians Tile and Stone. Oregon Tile operates in Portland, Medford, Seattle, Boise and Spokane. Bedrosians says it has worked with Oregon Tile for 30 years. Oregon Tile's new name is Oregon Tile & Marble a Bedrosians Company. Bedrosians has more than 40 branches, mostly in the West but also in the Southeast.
