In Tacoma, Gray Lumber Co. promoted Rich Allen and Steve Wittenberg; and hired Christine Whisenant and Frank Devlin in contractor sales. Allen, now specializing in residential sales, has been at Gray for over 11 years and is an Air Force veteran. Wittenberg has been with the company for over 20 years, and is now focusing on commercial construction. Whisenant is a door and window specialist with 16 years of industry experience. Devlin services industrial and institutional accounts, and has been in the wood products industry for 25 years.

The Walsh Group

Rule

The Seattle office of The Walsh Group hired Tim Rule as senior project manager. Rule spent 19 years working for Kiewit in western Canada, mostly on design-build hydro, and design-build and P3 transportation projects. He is assisting with the preconstruction team at Walsh.

General contractor Lease Crutcher Lewis promoted eight in its Seattle operations: Chris Burris to chief estimator; Kim Walters to estimator; Julianna Plant, Ashley Frederick, Joe Nielsen and Jeremy Callas to senior project managers; and Kris Dehmollayi and Herb LeBeau to project managers. Burris is a 17-year estimating professional who joined Lewis in 2014. Walters, LEED AP, has 14 years of estimating and construction management expertise, and joined Lewis in 2014. Plant joined the firm in 2015 as project manager, and has been in construction for 15 years. Frederick interned at Lewis in 2003 and became full-time in 2004. Nielsen has been in construction since 2003 and joined Lewis in 2010. Callas has been in construction since 2009 and joined Lewis in 2015. Dehmollayi is a six-year construction professional who has been with the firm since 2016. LeBeau started in structural design in 2004, moved to construction in 2006 and joined Lewis in 2015.

Ritchie Bros.

Equipment auctioneer Ritchie Bros. appointed Jeff Jeter as president of Upstream & Emerging Businesses, North America, and Kari Taylor as chief sales officer of U.S. Regions. Jeter helped integrate sales forces following Ritchie's acquisition of IronPlanet in 2017. Taylor has extensive experience in sales management in multiple industries, most recently as chief revenue officer for Benco Dental. The appointments are effective July 1.

AGC of America

Several Northwest firms won 2019 Willis Towers Watson Construction Safety Excellence Awards at Associated General Contractors of America's annual convention, held earlier this month in Denver. They were: Cornerstone General Contractors of Anchorage, first place in Building (under 600,000 worker hours); P&C Construction of Portland, first place in Construction Management (under 400,000 hours); Knife River Materials of Central Point, Oregon, second place in Highway & Transportation (over 2 million hours); BNBuilders of Seattle, second place in Building (over 1 million hours); and Acme Concrete Paving of Spokane, third place in Highway & Transportation (under 600,000 hours).
