Seth J. Thompson joined The Walsh Group in Seattle as an assistant project manager. Thompson comes from Skanska USA Civil and has been in the construction industry for about six years, as a project engineer and cost engineer. At Walsh, he is working on the Hilltop Tacoma Link light rail extension.

Forma Construction Co.

Rich

In Olympia, Forma Construction Co. promoted Brian Rich to director of preconstruction and principal in the leadership group. Rich started in the company's mail room 20 years ago and has been an estimator for a number of those years. Forma says it's been in a period of strong growth, with revenues doubling over the past few years.

Johnson

In Spokane, Bouten Construction Co. hired Phillip Johnson as senior project manager. Johnson came from Lease Crutcher Lewis in Seattle, where he was a project manager for two years. Before that, he was a project manager at University Mechanical Contractors and a superintendent for Kiewit Infrastructure West Co.

NAMC-WA

Glenn

The Washington Chapter of the National Association of Minority Contractors handed out six awards at its recent 3rd Annual Minority and Women Business Enterprise Awards gala. The winners were: Young-Sang Song, owner of Song Consulting, Emerging Business; Tunista Construction, Established Business; Hensel Phelps, General Contractor of the Year; Washington State Department of Enterprise Services, Public Agency of the Year; Robert Armstead, NAMC past president, Founder's Award; and Regina Glenn, president of Pacific Communications Consultants, Diversity Advocate of the Year. NAMC-WA also announced it will name the Diversity Advocate of the Year award in honor of Glenn. NAMC-WA is a nonprofit trade association promoting minority contractors.

ABC of Western Washington

The Associated Builders and Contractors of Western Washington announced its 2020 slate of officers and board members. Here are the officers: Jason Wandler of Oles Morrison Rinker & Baker, chair; Glen Kuntz of Tekton Group, chair-elect/secretary; Travis Hull of Mechanical & Control Services, immediate past chair and vice chair of leadership development; Josh Griesse, Washington Commercial Painters, vice chair of government affairs; Stephanie Carlin of Propel Insurance, vice chair of membership; Dawn Lanz of Sea-Tac Electric, vice chair of professional development; and Marc Victor of Rafn Co., treasurer. Board members are Mike Yore of Olympian Precast, Adam DeBruler of Neeley Construction, Candi Pfluger of Peterson Sullivan, Doug Jones of Haggard Electrical Contractors, Shelley Bloom of The Blue Book Building & Construction Network, Karen Say of Saybr Contractors, Cindy Axthelm of Axthelm Construction and Scott Garcia of Parker, Smith & Feek.

Rite Way Electric

Chaz Hooley of Rite Way Electric in Albany, Oregon, won second place in the Independent Electrical Contractors' 2019 National Apprentice of the Year Competition. Hooley is a member of IEC's Oregon chapter. The nonprofit trade association also named Cindy Regier of the Oregon chapter as 2019 IEC Chapter Executive Director of the Year.

Omega Morgan

Bechtel recognized Omega Morgan as a top subcontractor at its recent annual Supply Chain Awards event. Omega worked with Bechtel to deliver components to the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant site. The job included engineered transportation and rigging services. Omega primarily serves the Portland and Seattle areas, as well as parts of western Canada.
