The Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Washington elected its 2020-2021 board officers: Stacy Johnson of Auburn Mechanical, president; Jeff White of Holmberg Mechanical, vice president; Frank Leonard of Key Mechanical, secretary/treasurer; and Mark Webster of MacDonald-Miller Facility Solutions, immediate past president. New directors are Matt Campbell of General Mechanical and Geno Timmons of Enviromech. MCA members consist of union-signatory plumbing, piping and HVAC contractors.
Seattle-based Nielsen Commercial opened a branch office in Great Falls, Montana, and in the spring will open a third office, in Boise, Idaho. The general contracting business was started about a year ago by construction industry veteran Jeff Nielsen, a co-founder of BNBuilders in Seattle. Nielsen is expanding in anticipation of continued growth this year in the local market. The company focuses on specialty construction markets including life science, health care, technology, retail, manufacturing, corporate facilities, government, hospitality, clean energy and defense.
Houston-based Vortex Cos. bought Trenchless Pipe Repairs of Sumner. Financial details were not disclosed. TPR specializes in robotic cutting, cleaning and reinstatement services, cured-in-place lining and trenchless infrastructure management. It was founded in 2011 by Nick Patrick, who is now Vortex's national and global product manager. Patrick has nearly 25 years of experience in trenchless technologies.
Laborers' International Union of North America Northwest Region formed a partnership with NHL Seattle to make LIUNA the official union partner of the hockey team. LIUNA members are building NHL Seattle's new home and practice facility in Northgate.

General contractor Lease Crutcher Lewis hired Matt Filkins as chief administrative officer; and promoted Mark Portin to the new role of director of field operations for Washington and Tina Sealey to safety director in Washington. Filkins has 24 years of finance, strategic planning and talent management experience, and owned a consulting business. Portin has been at Lewis for over 24 years, rising from carpenter to general superintendent. In his new position, he focuses on workforce development, diversity and projects in preconstruction. Sealey was safety manager and interim safety director. She joined the company in 2018 and is a five-year safety professional.

Keith Glasch is the new principal and president of ACI Mechanical & HVAC Sales. Glasch has 31 years of commercial HVAC experience, most recently as president of Ruskin in Missouri. He also worked at Johnson Controls, Titus, Daikin and Carrier. He succeeds company co-founder Jim Sinclair, who is now board chair and remains as an adviser. ACI has offices in Seattle, Portland and Spokane.
The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties has new board officers for 2020: Brian Holtzclaw, president; Todd Levitt of Murray Franklyn Family of Companies, first vice president; Cameron McKinnon of Gamut360 Holdings, second vice president; Luellen Smith of Rhino Wine Cellars & Cooling Systems, secretary; and Bonnie Geers of Quadrant Homes, immediate past president. Holtzclaw is a land use and real estate development lawyer serving as in-house counsel for Village Life, a community development firm. He also is mayor pro tem for the city of Mill Creek.
