NorthEdge

Photos by Lara Swimmer [enlarge]

NorthEdge is a 208,000-square-foot office building at 1601 N. 34th St. in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood.

Inspiration for the building came from the adjacent Gas Works Park, and its 1900s machinery. Rustic and modern materials were chosen to celebrate the area’s industrial past.

NorthEdge is organized around a 38-foot-wide central outdoor court, with small roof terraces and walkways that step down toward Lake Union.

The space will accommodate more than 1,300 employees of Tableau Software, which is the building’s sole tenant.

The building was designed to earn a LEED silver rating.

Developer: Touchstone

Architect: Perkins+Will

General contractor: Lease Crutcher Lewis
