12th & Spruce is a new seven-story, 60,000-square-foot multifamily building at 169 12th Ave. in Seattle’s Yesler Terrace neighborhood that provides 103 affordable studio apartments to veterans experiencing chronic homelessness and people who have clinical mental illness.
There are two community rooms, counseling services, a common kitchen, and an outdoor courtyard for the tenants to gather. The project also involved building out a space in the same building for a local nonprofit organization, St. Francis House, that helps the homeless population be part of a community and receive necessities.
Developer: Plymouth Housing Group
Architect: SMR Architects
General contractor: W.G. Clark Construction
