Q. What’s wrong with the old Mickey Gilley song about how at a bar “the girls all get prettier at closing time”?
A. It’s only half the story, ignoring that the boys get handsomer too, say Robert Baron and Donn Byrne in “Social Psychology.” It works out a lot better this way, because it would hardly suit humankind’s reproductive future if the gals metamorphosed into beauties while the guys stayed pumpkins.
