Strange But True!

    Q. This lowly body part has 28 bones, a score of muscles and tendons, more than 50 ligaments, complex webs of blood vessels and nerves, and swells up toward evening. Its 90,000 sweat glands pump out half a cup daily. Did you already guess?

    A. Of course, it's the human foot, with today's version a full size bigger than its counterpart of a generation ago, due to better nutrition. Each day a typical owner takes some 8,000 steps – or 100,000 miles in a lifetime, four times around the world.
