Q. If you are religious, will you live longer?
A. Blissfully, yes, about seven years longer, on average, for faith-committed weekly-plus church attenders compared to nongoers, says a study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, reported in the journal "Demography." This was after controlling for factors such as gender (women live longer in general and attend church more frequently) and health problems preventing attendance. However, you can't just suddenly "get religion" but must embrace longstanding devotion.
