William Cichanski, an associate with KPFF Consulting Engineers, is now at the firm’s recently opened Tacoma office. A civil/structural engineer with 28 years experience, Cichanski’s expertise includes design, evaluation, and rehabilitation of waterfront and floating structures. He also specializes in seismic upgrades of fixed and floating bridges and has extensive experience in forensic engineering.
He was involved in the study that investigated the feasibility of additional lanes to the I-90 floating bridge. Cichanski’s projects in Tacoma include the rehabilitation of the Proctor Street Bridge, structural repairs at the Group Health Specialty Center and two specially designed floating docks being constructed in Tacoma that will be towed to Alaska in August. Other projects include Terminal 18 for the Port of Seattle and Sinclair Landing/Bremerton Transportation Center.
