The Seattle office of Brown and Caldwell has acquired several staff members, including Robert Gatz, Alex Reed and Bo Vestergaard-Hansen.
Gatz, a civil engineer with 24 years of experience, rejoins Brown and Caldwell as a project manager and lead designer for wastewater collection and conveyance, and storm water projects. Projects he has lead recently include site design for the ongoing Clearwater Casino Expansion Project in Suquamish; utility and site design for the Poulsbo Place redevelopment in Poulsbo; site design for Central Market, Poulsbo; and sewage pump station design for the Clearwater Casino. He will be working with the wastewater collection and conveyance group developing infrastructure solutions as well as expanding Brown & Caldwell’s client base in Kitsap County and on the Olympic Peninsula.
An electrical engineer with 10 years of experience, Reed has served as lead electrical engineer on projects involving water and wastewater plants, wet electrostatic precipitators (OSB plants), paper plants, refrigeration facilities, jails, co-generation plants and bridges. He is working on the South Treatment Plant Fault study and the Carkeek Pump Station CSO improvements for King County, as well as the Everett Water Treatment Plant Soda Ash Feeder Replacement.
Vestergaard-Hansen is a recent graduate from the University of Washington where he received his master of science in mechanical engineering. His studies concentrated on energy, power generation and environmental technologies, including alternative power generation and environmental control equipment, as well as environmental management. Since joining Brown and Caldwell, he has assisted on the fuel cell demonstration project for King County, as well as the wastewater treatment plant expansion project for the Alderwood Water District.
