Mithun

Mithun has named three new principals, in a step that represents the broadening of the firm’s services. Elizabeth MacPherson, Mark Smedley and Bryon Ziegler are the newest members of the leadership team.

MacPherson is the first interior designer to be named principal. She has been with the firm for seven years. Her work on commercial, retail, residential, special needs housing, hospitality and medical projects has made her a national speaker on the trends and principles of interior design.

Smedley has been working for Mithun’s residential care group for five years. His projects include designs for seniors, affordable housing and special needs housing. He has been a long-time advocate/educator on the unique design elements and sensitivities these projects require.

Ziegler is an urban designer who is currently working on Seattle’s center city open space strategy. He focuses his energies on creating urban places, with the goal of making the spaces between the buildings wonderful experiences, he said. He hopes to broaden the firm’s urban design expertise to offer clients a national and international perspective.
