Art Anderson Associates, a professional service company with experience in naval architecture, shoreline architecture/engineering, construction management and water transportation development, announced the addition of Lt. Col (retired) John Watkins as vice president of East Coast operations.

Watkins comes from the Pentagon, where he was in charge of reorganizing Joint Chiefs of Staff charter for logistics over the shore operations, and supported several acquisitions and operations as well as managing acquisitions and operations management. He was responsible for developing operations programs in both the transportation and equipment acquisition arenas, and oversaw movement of Department of Defense critical cargo during operations in Kosovo, Yemen and Afghanistan.

Watkins will work on water transportation systems development, such as the navy lighterage system, vessel acquisition, port and terminal operations, and portable port systems development.
