Nakano Associates LLC announced the promotion of Jim Yamaguchi to principal. Yamaguchi will lead the firm's design and management operations. Since April, Yamaguchi has assumed management responsibilities while founding principal, Kenichi Nakano, is on sabbatical.

Yamaguchi has 25 years of landscape architecture experience in public and private projects. Since joining Nakano Associates in 2000, Yamaguchi's projects have included the Fifth and Bell Building, Friendly Grove Park, Bellevue Access Project, Anacortes Library, Shoreline Community College master plan update, Bellevue Transit Center, South 154th Street Light Rail Station and Holly Park Development Phase 3.

Nakano Associates specializes in landscape architecture, parks and recreation planning, campus planning and design, and urban design with a focus on building community. Current projects include Rainier Vista redevelopment, High Point redevelopment and Tacoma Convention Center and Pacific Square.
