Housing Development Consortium

Members of Housing Development Consortium opened or preserved 1,000 units of affordable housing in King County during 2004. Construction generated 1,260 jobs, $71.8 million in wages and $8.65 million in taxes, according to the group. It is a trade association of nonprofit housing developers, lenders, architects, contractors and others. This year, consortium members are scheduled to open 1,395 affordable apartments and homes, and 12 projects will begin construction, adding a total of 2,005 units to the county's affordable housing stock by 2006.
