Otak's Seattle office added Robert McClendon, an architect with experience in retail and hospitality. McClendon worked on the New Town Downtown, a $200 million revitalization of Tacoma's core and refurbishment of the Four Seasons Olympic Hotel in Seattle. McClendon has also worked on the Boeing Museum of Flight in Seattle, Stuttgart Center Museum in Germany and the Pompidou Place Museum in France. Otak's Lake Oswego headquarters added landscape intern Benjamin Roth, civil designer Karla Zenz and architecture intern Guy de Lijster. Roth's landscape design experience spans public and private projects, from a memorial garden at Oregon State University to a planned-unit development in Red Lodge, Mont. Zenz, formerly an intern with Otak's Development Services group, has worked with the Portland Office of Transportation on a new school-zone signage system and is a recent graduate from the University of Portland. De Lijster, joined the arhitecture group with experience designing commercial and residential structures in The Netherlands and Spain. The firm also added three employees in Abu Dhabi. Zouheir Farah, a senior project manager, has 22 years of experience and helped design 17 American interstates. Vijaykumar Valavppil, an engineer for 19 years, specializes in computer-aided design and has more than a decade of experience working in the Persian Gulf region. Padmavathi Vinnakota will be responsible for various office and administrative duties.
