Tom Kundig designed “The Brain” Studio, which is profiled along with four other homes in his new book “Houses.”

Princeton Architectural Press recently released “Houses,” a new book by Tom Kundig, principal at Seattle’s Olson Sundberg Kundig Allen Architects.

The book looks at five of Kundig’s projects in depth, from early conceptual sketches to photographs of the completed projects. Edited by design writer Dung Ngo, it also features a statement by Kundig and contributions from architects Steven Holl, Rick Joy and Billie Tsien.

Kundig completed the book during a month-long residency at the MacDowell Colony. The houses featured in the book reveal Kundig’s interest in combining art, craft and the experience of built space with respect for the environment.

Featured houses are Studio House, “The Brain” Studio, Chicken Point Cabin, Hotrod House and Delta Shelter.
