Richmond is named AIA Seattle director

AIA Seattle announced Lisa Richmond has been chosen as the executive director, replacing Marga Rose Hancock.

A press release from AIA Seattle called Richmond “an effective communicator with significant experience in financial management, partnership and program development.”

Richmond begins Dec. 1. She is a Harvard Loeb Fellow and was a public art specialist for the Seattle Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs. She has also worked as a project management consultant in Atlanta and Melbourne, Australia.

“AIA Seattle influences the evolution of our community in a very fundamental way,” said Richmond. “I am excited by this opportunity to renew our collective vision, serve the profession and take a leading role in the shaping of our future.”

Hancock will be director of special projects, working on the AIA 150 celebration in 2007.
