BLRB is doing early design for a high volume spay/neuter clinic in Tacoma. Dugan Foundation of Tacoma is the developer.
Dugan works in the areas of sheltering, care, education and adoption by providing business leadership, grants, community programs and public outreach. The foundation is considering multiple sites for the approximately 10,000-square-foot clinic.
BLRB Architects and a consultant team will be providing design and engineering services pro-bono. Consultants working with BLRB Architects include PCS Structural Solutions, Tres West Engineers, AHBL Engineers and Thomas Rengstorf Associates.
The design is scheduled to be on display Oct. 6 at the Dugan Foundation’s Fur Ball black-tie fundraising event. Fundraising will begin in May with a capital goal of $2.5 million and an endowment goal of $6 million. The building is scheduled to open in spring of 2009, and have the capacity to perform more than 10,000 sterilizations per year.
