The American Society of Interior Designers Foundation and the U.S. Green Building Council are working to create green residential remodeling guidelines for existing homes.
A first draft of the guidelines was released at USGBC’s Greenbuild International Conference and Expo earlier this month in Chicago. It is available for public comment and can be seen at http://www.regreenprogram.org. The comment period closes on Dec. 10. The final guidelines will be released next March at ASID’s Interiors 08 conference in New Orleans.
The new http://www.regreenprogram.org Web site will cover sustainable remodeling for design professionals. Consumers can go to the USGBC’s consumer Web site http://www.greenhomeguide.org for resources for green home renovation.
