GeoEngineers made several promotions and hires. Chris Nordfors, Jim Roth, Terry McPhetridge, Joanne Markert, Paul Szewczykowski and Matt Blankenship were promoted to associates. Corporate marketing director Nordfors has worked out of the Redmond office for almost two years. Roth works in the Seattle office and has been with the firm for 19 years. He works on the site assessment and remediation group, and is also a construction dewatering expert. Roth played a key role in completing several large cleanup actions for the University of Washington and the Port of Anacortes. McPhetridge has been with the firm for seven years and has 20 years of experience in the environmental industry. He is the acting environmental group manager in the Tacoma office. Markert, who works in the Tacoma office, has been with GeoEngineers since 1999 and has worked in the applied technology /GIS field for more than 14 years. Szewczykowski is an environmental scientist with more than 20 years of experience providing ecological and permitting services. Szewczykowski joined the Bellingham office last year. Blankenship works in the Spokane office and has led the special inspection and testing team for several years, The firm also promoted April Brast from the Spokane office to corporate marketing and public involvement specialist, and hired Ron Costello as a principal in its Portland office. Brast started at GeoEngineers in 2006 and has assisted on public involvement projects for municipal clients. Costello has 35 years of experience with environmental issues related to fishery and water-resource projects. Previously, he worked with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation.
