Jon Magnusson, chairman and CEO of Magnusson Klemencic Associates in Seattle and Chicago, was recently named a distinguished member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. Formerly known as honorary membership, distinguished membership is the society’s highest accolade and recognizes those who have achieved eminence in a branch of engineering.
The society has 193 distinguished members and more than 140,000 total members worldwide.
Magnusson is being honored for his contributions to structural engineering through innovative design of signature buildings, and for his work in the high school ACE Mentor Program. He will be formally inducted on Thursday, Nov. 6, at ASCE’s Annual Civil Engineering Conference in Pittsburgh.
